Philippines is a very beautiful  country, but it also implies a lot of insecurity. Anout 2 years ago, our company went to the Philippines for a trip and one of  my colleagues suddenly couldn’t find his passport, he never should have put it in his purse. He was sure a pickpocket took it. We hoped he just misplaced it and adviced he can turned out all of his pockets and search for it before we panic.Finally, we believed that his passport has been stolen and went to the Philippines embassy immediately.

The Philippines is a very beautiful  country, but going there also implies a lot of insecurity. About 2 years ago, our team went to the Philippines for a trip and one of  my colleagues suddenly couldn’t find his passport.

He never should have put it in his purse. He was sure a pickpocket had taken it. We hoped he had just misplaced it and we advised him to check all of his pockets and search for it before we panicked. Finally, we believed that his passport had been stolen and we went to the Chinese embassy immediately.

We often use “the”‘ when the country is made of many different things (islands, states, etc.) OR when it’s a noun (Republic, Kingdom, etc)
