salon – a place to get a haircut

eg: “I went to a salon last week to cut my hair.”

hang out –  stay somewhere and don’t do anything specific, do anything or nothing…

eg: “I was hanging out at home all day.”

sip – a small drink, to drink a little slowly

“I sip whiskey.”

melt – rong hua

eg: “The flavor is different when the ice in whiskey melts.”

on the rocks – cocktail on ice

neat – straight liquor (whiskey) in a glass, not a shot

eg: “I’ll have two whiskeys on the rocks and one neat whiskey.”

Recently, Chinese netizens created some interesting words and the “skinny blue mushroom†was one of words. After his girlfriend was away with him, he said I felt sad and I wanted to cry. But his Guangxi accent sounded like “Lanshou, xiangguâ€, which meant “Skinny blue mushroom.†Before he uploaded this video to Weibo, he never thought he could be popular and his girlfriend would come back again.
