My English

I have been studying English for the last 3 months. Even though I have made some progress, it’s not quite enough for some of the opportunities that come up. (it always is slower than opportunity when I meet.) Recently, I have been looking for a new job. / Right now / at the moment I am looking for / I am trying to find a new job. Just this morning, I got a call from the HR department of XXX / an HR representative (at Disney.) We talked for a while and I felt I was / might be suitable for the position / the person they were looking for. However, at the end of the call, she asked me:How about / What about your English , can you converse in English ?”, which took the wind out of my sail / left me a bit deflated / which was another reminder of how my progress could be faster. I don’t know whether it influenced whether or not they’ll call me for another interview.

I have some lost about it and about my English. Learning a new language can be a frustrating experience, and my case is no exception. Learning language is like keeping fit, which means I need to put in a lot of time and hard work if I want to get the result / to get the result I want. Trouble is, opportunities don’t wait for you. The only way is to keep at it! Keep learning, keep reading and listening. For now, I’ll just take a break and then I’ll get back to it with more enthusiasm / determination.

Edit:
