Semi-desert climate:  kind of dry/half desert.  – hot, and more dry.  Less humid.

Desert:  a dry area of land (usually lots of sand).

Eg.  Peter’s hometown is in a desert.

Humid subtropical climate:  hot humid summers, wet cold winters.

Tropical:  meaning close to the tropics. (tropic of cancer, tropic of Capricorn)

Eg.  I want to vacation somewhere tropical.  =  somewhere hot with palm trees.

Palm (paulm) tree:  trees that are more common in tropical areas  (they look like the palm of your hand).

Eg.  Sanya has a lot of palm trees.

Snow-birds:  people that go south for the winter… because their hometown is too cold.

Pollution (noun):  any garbage/chemicals/ etc.  anything that makes something dirty.

Eg. The rivers in Shanghai are full of pollution.

Polluted (adj):  if something is not clean.

Eg.  The air in Shanghai is very polluted.

Berries:  type of fruit – strawberry, blackberry, raspberry, huckleberry, goji berries.

These two days I was planning a travel to Singapore with my and my classmate’s family. My original plan was going to Japan but my classmate could not go due to some realistic reasons. As we will take our children, and we didn’t want to go far and have a tired travel, so we chose Singapore as the travel destination. I assigned some tasks to them, like booking hotel and plane tickets, getting visas, learning tourist attractions, looking for the tasty food, etc. I took the responsibility for visas. I browsed on Taobao and Ctrip to look for an agency which can help us to get visas. I am looking forward to the travel and wish we will have a happiness travel.
