Vocabulary

Belonging (n): 1- the things that a person owns, especially those that can be carried.
E.g.: I put a few personal belongings in a bag and left the house for the last time.

Sneakers (n): 1- a type of light, comfortable shoe that is suitable for playing sports
E.g.: Catia is wearing a pair of white sneakers.

Segregate (v): 1- to keep one group of people apart from another and treat them differently, especially because of race or sex. (n: Segregation)
E.g.: Blacks were segregated from whites in every area of life.

Grammar

She – Her – Hers – Her

  • She has a house. – Ela tem uma casa.
  • This is her house. – Esta é a casa dela.
  • This house is hers – Essa casa é dela.
  • This house belongs to her. – Essa casa pertence a ela.

He – His – His – Him

  • He has a house.
  • This is his house.
  • This house is his.
  • This house belongs to him.

You – Your – Yours – You

  • You have a house. – Você tem uma casa. / Vocês tem uma casa.
  • This is your house. – Esta é a sua dela. / Essa é a casa de vocês.
  • This house is yours – Essa casa é vossa.  / Essa casa é de vocês.
  • This house belongs to you. – Essa casa pertence a você.
