Review:

Almost: very close to completion

Hardly:  practically nothing.

Blood:  comes out of your body when you cut yourself.

Farmer:  someone who takes care of plants or animals. (they own a farm)

Distract/distracting:  it takes your attention away from sth else.

Eg.  It’s distracting when I can shop while at work.

Eg.  It is distracting when I can watch tv while I’m doing homework.

Eg.  When I am doing homework I have to tell my kid not to distract me.

Nobody ever likes their mother in law.

Adult (ah – dult)

Daycare:  when you can drop your child off for the day and someone takes care of them.

Preschool:  the year before kindergarten, when you can drop your kid off.

Maternity leave:  when you get time off after giving birth.

c-section:  when they need to remove/birth the baby via surgery.

It is hard(challenging) to be a Chinese woman/ I think Chinese women are very hard (personality)

Hard personality:  strong, stubborn, persistent, not easy to get to know.

Today was a busy day at work. As yesterday was closing month end day, I had a lot of month-end and quarter-end reports need to be finished. And the company had a special sale activity in the meeting room, I also wanted to buy some cheaper products. So I couldn’t focus my attention on the work. Fortunately, today was not the reports deadline, so I had a few time to desert. The special sale was been hold in a meeting room, the group staffs could enter the room in batches.

Fiscal calendar:  business calendar (doesn’t always match the solar calendar).

Eg.  Month end on the fiscal calendar is in March.

Fiscal:  anything to do with money.

Staff = uncountable

Held = past tense of hold.

I also have met a lot of people/ I can associate with lots of people who have the same interests.

Always “the future”

Eg.  I will own 10 cats in the future.

Eg.  Sam will go to the gym in the future.

Eg.  I went to Haley’s house and she told me about the future.
