Speaking exercise

I work in a multi country company -> I work in a multi national company, we are planning to set up a meeting with the global colleagues.
I need to consider the time difference. / I need to take into account the time difference between our countries.

In my previous company we also had European colleagues.

The US colleagues to attend the meeting it is horrible -> it was really hard for the US colleagues to attend the meeting due to the time difference / The US colleagues really had a tough time because it was so early for them / so late for them.

There are several global colleagues, she said you can check with the manager. / she advised me to check with their manager to find a time slot.

Usually I’m in the evening in the preferable time for Chinese colleagues and my baby is always crying -> Usually their preferred meeting time is during the evening for us in China so it disturbs my baby and he cries

At that time I was still in my prior company.
In July, I entered the new company.

This was a big gap between the two jobs. -> the two jobs were very different
I am used to the environment / I am still in the same industry.

I just want them to understand me / I just want to be understandable

It is a kind of disease that is not very progressive.
The patient will have low life quality and more risk of thrombosis

Symptoms are one aspect , the focus is to improve the life quality of the patients but it is not very easy to evaluate these things because it is subjective. / the main goal is to improve the life quality of patients but it is really based on their feelings and hard to measure.

We use patient report outcome to measure the symptoms of the patients.
We have 7 items to ask the patients on a scale from 0-10

we compare the results to get wether the drug is efficient or not / we use the results to assess the efficacy of the drug

This is the first time I use this metric.
I have no idea how to maintain the quality of those results.
Different education levels of the patients… some may not express themselves well or may be disturbed. -> The education level of the patients may also really influence the results, some may not be able to read technical words/

I feel the results are not very accurate, it is hard to ensure the quality of these results.
Some patients may not be able to recognize a character. / some patients may not be able to read fluently.

They have different pain tolerances

I think they are in different stages.
In the current trial it is just at the beginning, we are involved in discussions before the enrollment.  / we are in the pre-enrollment phase

We also have many communications with the Agency (FDA)… / we communicate closely with the regulator.

The global team started the trial very quickly but in China we had a delay due to the drug supply.
Global will start at the end of the year but for China it will happen 1 year later.

The best case of the time gap is 3-4 months -> the best case scenario would be to have only a 3-4 month gap /  generally the time gap is only 3-4 months.

I think the comments make sense, the protocol was amended based on their requirements

It will impact how we conduct the clinical trials.
