This is Q4 so we need to foresee for next year. / we need to plan for next year / we need to make our previsions for next year.
We need to do a lot of business pitches.

Another reason is because our company merged with another company so we need to work very hard to stay. / Our company just merged so everyone is working extra because we are worried about being laid off

We lost our name / we now operate under the name of the other company

If our boss fails to gain power / fails to secure a strong position in the new company … we could be in trouble.

I don’t care, if I lose this job I’ll just have a good rest for a few months.
Maybe it is a good time to find a new position. / I feel it is probably time for me to move on so I don’t mind moving to a different job/position after a little time to rest.

in Next year -> next year the job market will get better

If you just analyze the economic development cycles we already had bad 4 years  / the economy has been going down for the last 4 years and are down to a very low point so next year could be the beginning of the recovery. / I think we have already bottomed and will recover next year

The government already started to stimulate the economy with some financial policies.
They issued a lot of debt in local government to support fundamental institutions. / they have been using debt to …/ they issued bunds to support 

For the past 10 days Tmall had a pre warm period. The performance is not so good, even worse than last year.

It is terrible for most industries except for medical companies or high tech.

A lot of people don’t have a lot of savings and spend their savings in the past 3-4 years.
/ a lot of people have almost exhausted /used up their savings due to Covid.

For the advertising industry, it is not a developing industry. The industry already passed the golden period / it has already peaked. 

In the Chinese market there are a lot of limitations from the government. / we need to be careful about our message…

I am an account manager and manage the clients so I can learn a lot of important communication skills but from another perspective I don’t have a lot of hard skills.
I just organize meetings and bridge with other departments and manage projects.

I think 2 years is enough in this role and I have already been there for 1 year and 7 months. / and I am coming close to 2 years in this company

We only have the reputation and the big company but it is hard to get promoted or get a pay raise  / working here is good because the company has great reputation but the compensation and development outlook aren’t so great

Sometimes we deliver but the client refuses to pay for it.

Before the project start we check their budget and the scope of work and the timeline to make sure we have the resources to support the project. Sometimes unexpected things happen / sometimes things happen unexpectedly.

We have a lot of projects and clients want more but they want to spend less / clients always require more from us but cut the budget at the same time.

In this position I need to handle clients and colleagues. I need them to provide support for my project. I think it is related to our company structure. We have a business department and a supporting department such as tech development and design and strategy planners.

I need to try my best to do everything and consider their mood.
I feel like a babysitter.
I think it can be a kind of tool to replace some entry level jobs.
People do a brief and the AI drafts the email but it is only the entry level output. We still need people to polish the AI output. / AI is not mature enough to entirely replace positions, it can only help for entry level things and with constant human oversight.

I think big models are behind AI.-> AI is powered by large models  If we already have the knowledge recorded in these model, some people who have soft skills and can use the AI will be more valuable than people who just have knowledge.

This is why I joined this company and I wanted to improve my communication skills and how to handle complex issues and projects.

the most takeaway -> the main takeaway is I know how to handle different people and make them work together.

Additionally I know how to control my emotions and not get affected by my workmate / I know how to keep my emotions in check 

They provide support to every project department.

My boss taught me a lot.
I still haven’t figured out what I want for the next step.

My objective is to find a job in a brand or in a product company.

Staff relationship in car companies is very complex.
The cosmetic industry is the first priority and then luxury companies.
In my current jobs most clients I serve are in the cosmetic industry.

Appearance is related to their attractiveness.
Men think they need to use skincare products.

Vocabulary

1. Bund (n) – A type of loan or financial product that a country’s government uses to borrow money. The government issued bunds to get the money needed for building new roads.
2. To keep something in check (expression) – To keep something under control or within limits. Eating healthy and exercising helps to keep my weight in check.
3. Raise (n) – An increase in the amount of money you earn from your job. After working hard all year, I was happy to receive a raise.
4. To peak (v) – To reach the highest point or level. The athlete’s performance peaked during the championship game.
5. To bottom (v) – To reach the lowest point in a declining situation. After a tough year, the sales figures have bottomed, so we expect them to start improving soon.
6. Consumer confidence (n) – The level of optimism that consumers feel about the overall state of the economy and their personal financial situation. When consumer confidence is high, people are more likely to spend money.
