It is the 4th week since we started working from home.
We don’t know what is exactly happening right now behind the Omicron crisis and the Zero policy execution. What we are experiencing and observing is that Shanghai people are amid lockdown for almost 1 month, with no end in sight.
It is a chaotic time, occupied by arguments – scientific and political; basement layer and central policy; Shanghai local and areas outside…etc. it is challenging to keep inner peace, frankly. I feel it’s impossible to immerse myself reading a book or watching a movie or doing anything I like but didn’t have enough time to do before lockdown.
Then so be it. I join the group buying in my compound, which is seemingly more practical under current situation. Sometimes I take the lead to coordinate the buying of my building, and found some neighbors are old people who are not able to join our group-buying as a result of lack of smart phone skills. And some young neighbors and myself will help them， eg. remind them if they have the demand of vegetable or other necessities. I perceived the closer connection the first time since I moved to this compound almost 10 years ago.
In front of any disaster or pandemic, people should be united.
