Chapter 15 is about the end of summer, usually in big city you know when the end of summer because you counted every day that you have for holidays, but how in the farm they know? It’s easy, the crickets are who have this work. They sing a monotonous and sad song, remembering to everyone, including some plants, that the summer is ending.
For example, Fern and Avery, when they hear it, remember that school soon begin. Lurvy know it’s time to plant potatoes. Charlotte know it’s her time to lay eggs. “use it or lose it” – it means if you don’t use your muscles, you will lose your strength, or if you don’t practice speaking a language you are learning, you will lose the ability to speak it.
