Vocabulary

We discussed how some words have both a literal and figurative meaning, such as the word action for example.

action 行动，动作
His actions helped other people

difference 区别，有所作为 (to make a difference)

His actions made a big difference in other people’s lives (his action made people’s lives better)

problem 问题

receive 收到

I received at gift from my mum on my birthday.

solution 解决方法，办法

second hand  something that you buy that has already been used
I bought my car second hand because it was cheaper.

We read the story “Those shoes” from National Geography Reach on pg. 11-25

The reading skills we focused on today was both identifying the problem and solution, also how to infer meaning from a text even if its not being directly said.
