We discussed the differences between first and third person

In the book series ” A series of Unfortunate Events” the author is talking directly to the reader. We know what the author thinks and feelsabout the Characters in this book. In DOW, we don’t know what the author is thinking, as the story is told by the main character Greg in first person. We we only know that Greg is thinking.

What should we think about the point of view a story is being told from?
