Write about what you learned in your VIP KID class about the farm. Have you been to a farm before? What did you think about it?

Vocabulary

1. kick (verb)= 踢
ex: Peter kicked his desk because he’s angry.
ex: My mom takes my favourite doll, so I kick my desk.
ex: Yesterday my mom took my favourite doll, so I kicked my desk.

2. shout= talk in a loud voice 大叫
ex: I shout to my sister “hurry up we will be late for school!”
ex: can you stop shouting?
ex: My mom shouts to me ” go do your homework!”

3. detention (noun)= 留堂 stay after class
ex: If you are a bad student, you will have detention in the classroom for 20 minutes.
ex: Allan didn’t do his homework, so the teacher told him “you will have detention for one hour”.

4. trainers = the shoes you wear when you do sports 运动鞋👟
ex: I always wear my trainers when I go running.
ex: My mom buys trainers for me, they are very beautiful and clean.

5. explain (verb)= 解释
ex: I tried to explain to my teacher why I am late.
ex: If you didn’t do your homework, you must explain to your teacher and your mom.

Peter kicked his desk and walked out of the classroom.

‘Hey!’ shouted Mr Clark, the maths teacher, to Peter’s back. ‘Detention!’ he called, but Peter didn’t stop. Peter often walked out of class.

Maria didn’t have her sports kit for class again. It was the second time this term. ‘I forgot it,’ she told the teacher. But it wasn’t true.

‘What’s wrong, Maria?’ asked her mother when the school called her. ‘I put your clean sports kit on your bed this morning.’

‘Nothing, Mum,’ said Maria very quietly.

‘Look at me and speak clearly,’ said her mother, angry. ‘I can’t understand you.’

Maria didn’t look up. She didn’t want to answer any questions. She didn’t want her mum to find the dress or the trainers either. Maria didn’t want to explain where they came from. If her mum saw them there would be a lot more questions. Questions that Maria didn’t want to answer.

‘Fine. But if you don’t tell me, I can’t help you.’

Everyday we have 8 class, it is 2 Chinese, Math, english, music and pE class. My favourite subject is math because it can make you clever. At school we learn things everyday. In Pe class, we have great fun. I like our school subjects, it was very happy.

Maria forgot her sports kit, her mom asked her “what’s wrong with you?” She didn’t want to tell her mom anything, so she didn’t answer the questions. Her mom said “I can’t help you because you didn’t tell me anything”.
