Vocabulary

hot spring – a place with hot water

ex. I’m going away to visit the hot springs.

regular – usual, normal

ex. I have a regular daily routine.

playoffs – a series of games that is played to decide the winner

accomplishments – things that are done well/successfully

ex. She may be young, but she is already famous for her accomplishments in swimming.

ex. One of his greatest accomplishments so far is getting first place in school.

record – the best achievement so far in an activity like sports

ex. The team broke the record by ranking first this season.

ex. She holds the world record for the 800 metres run.

huddle – to come close together in a group

ex. Sports teams usually huddle together before the competition.

opponent – the team you’re playing against; enemy

ex. Don’t go easy on your opponent.

ex. Too bad my friends are my opponents in the football game.

unfortunately – unluckily

ex. Unfortunately, the team still lost even though everyone gave their best effort.
