climate change – long-term shifts in temperatures (hot <->cold)

greenhouse gases – CO2, methane, nitrogen oxide that are bad for the earth

air/noise/environmental pollution – harmful

fossil fuels – gasoline, petrol, diesel for powering cars, factories and so on

increase –  when a number goes up

ex. I got a better score on my test this time – it’s a 10 point increase!

decrease – when a number goes down

hydro energy – water

renewable energy – can use again; hydro, wind, solar
