nightdress = a light, loose garment worn by a woman or child in bed

evening dress / evening gown =  a long dress usually worn at formal occasions

tender = soft
This meat is tender

tough = not soft
This steak is too tough

over + verb
overdo = do too much
overcook = cook for too long a time
overdress = wear more expensive/formal clothes than expected

under + verb
underdo = do too little (usually used with cooking)
