Vocabulary

get dark – when the light from the day is over
It gets dark late in summer

roots – what a tree has under the ground / what somoene has in a city where they’ve lived for a long time
I don’t want to leave Shanghai because I have roots here

groceries – everyday items, including food, toilet paper, toothpaste, etc.
I buy groceries from the supermarket

interviewer – the person who holds the interview
interviewee – the person who attends the interview
The interviewee was nervous because the interviewer didn’t smile

purchase – buy something big/important/expensive
They need someone to purchase foreign goods
