Vocabulary
sluggish (adj) – reacting slowly due to lack of sleep or tiredness

slow (adj) *when used to describe someone – mentally slow

vegetable (noun) *when used to describe someone – brain dead
After the accident, she became a vegetable
persist (verb) – refuse to give up
persist with something
It was hard to finish this assignment, but I persisted with it
insist (verb) – say that someone should do something (including yourself)
insist on something
My mom insisted that I had to do my homework
coma – a medical condition causing a person not to wake up for a long time
She has been in a coma for 6 months
Grammar
I was sleepless (It’s strange to say that someone is sleepless)
I had a sleepless night (It’s normal to say that a period of time is sleepless)
