We must focus on pronunciation of the diphthong /eɪ/ in words like ‘Spain’ and ‘plane’.

Pronunciation

The /eɪ/ sound is a combination of /e/ and /ɪ/ or /i:
When you pronounce the /eɪ/ sound, your mouth will change position and shape as you say the sound, because they combine two vowel sounds.

Practice with this sentence
The rain in Spain stays mainly on the plain.

Vocabulary
