verb + ed

Ex: jump + ed = jumped

talk + ed = talked

verbs ending in -e:

verb + d

Ex: dance + d = danced

examine + d = examined

verbs ending in -y:

y –> i and +ed

Ex: cry –> cried

fry –> fried

verbs with one syllable

ex: stay + ed = stayed
