Captain Fantastic
I watched the Captain Fantastic this weekend. It has sat in my wanting list for several months until I finally got the chance to watch it.
The movie is about a couple ben and his wife Leslie who devoted all their existence to create a family education model for their 6 children living in deep forest of Washington. Their education mainly focuses on critical thinking, nature science and physically fitness, meanwhile they shelter the kids from outside society and technology. Their kids have developed remarkable thinking abilities and prominent body fitness, besides, the biggest brother among them has got all offers from top universities. However, after the sudden death of the mom, things have changed, Ben has faced with a very painful process of taking the children out of their world and readapt to the modern society.
This movie has provoked me to think about the weakness of modern education and difficulty / dilemma of being different. Given that I was born and raised in modern society, I’ve reflected my weakness such as fickle character, superficial thinking habits, scarce knowledge of natural and weak body, which are partially resulted from multiscreen technology, brainwashing news, 0 contact with the real nature and spending too much time sitting on the chair playing on phones / games.Plus I’ve also imagined if I were one of these kind of kids, would I try to adapt to the mainstream culture or dare to be myself? There is one scene in the movie, the biggest brother A never has a close connection with girls except his sisters, when it comes the first time that he talks to a girl around his age, he does not dare to tell the truth about his family and his real life, even though with the fact that he is an elite who has got offers from top universities he can’t accept the fact that he may be a quirky from mass prospective. Fitting in the mass and wanting to be admitted by others are humanities, I doubt if I have the courage to be different.

Captain Fantastic
I watched the Captain Fantastic this weekend which has sat in my wishlist for several months until I finally got the chance to watch it.
The movie is about a couple, ben and his wife Leslie, who devoted all their existence to creating a family education model for their 6 children living deep in a forest of Washington. Their education mainly focuses on critical thinking, nature science and physical fitness, meanwhile they shelter the kids from outside society and technology. Their kids have developed remarkable thinking abilities and significant body fitness, besides this / on top of this, the biggest brother among them has got offers from all top universities. However, after the sudden death of the mom, things have changed / started to change, and Ben was faced with a very painful process of taking the children out of their world and readjusting to the modern society.
This movie has prompted me to think about the weakness of modern education and difficulty / dilemma of being different. Given that I was born and raised in modern society, I’ve reflected on my weaknesses such as a fickle character, superficial thinking habits / attitude / mindset, minimal / lack of / little knowledge of nature, and a weak body, which are partially a result of an overuse of technology, brainwashing news, zero contact with the real nature, and spending too much time sitting on the chair playing on with phones / playing games. Plus I’ve also imagined if I were that kind of kid, would I try to adapt to the mainstream culture or dare to be myself? There is one scene in the movie where the biggest brother, who has never had a close connection with girls except his sisters, talks to a girl around his age for the first time, but he does not dare to tell the truth about his family and his real life, even though with the fact that he is an elite who has got offers from top universities, he can’t accept the fact that he may be a quirky from society’s / from most people’s perspective. Fitting into society and wanting to be accepted by others are human characteristics / are part of being human, and I doubt whether (sounds negative)/ I’m not sure whether (sounds like you’re pondering it) I have the courage to be different.
