Online Class Notes (Jesse) [30]

Writing exercise

My teacher taught me three steps to say no particularly when I have emotions. Step one, recognize my emotions which requires me to be present. Step two, know what I want by asking myself. Step three, express exactly what I want without emotions. I’ve been benefited from the steps and found how cool it is to say no in my life and work. Here is an example. I’ve been tied up this week while I recognized that I have the desire to practice English pronunciation and review class notes. I deprioritized some work and moved them to this afternoon. I then locked one hour down in my calendar and went to a meeting room to prepare for the English class. It felt so good to be the master of my work rather than to be occupied by them.
