At present, there are two types of e-commerce platforms in China. One is (in the) public domain, like Tmall, tiktok, JD and so on. The other one is (in the) private domain, like WeChat mini-program, website, etc. The differences of these two are the distribution and collection of data. For public domain, all the data is displayed by the third party platforms, companies cannot save (the / their) consumers’ data by themselves. It is very easy for them to delete the data and disclose it to the public, but the good thing is you can transfer these data after purchase. For the private domain, the dominant part / advantage is you can collect and disrupt the storage of this data by yourselves, but compared with public domain, there are few triggers to attract consumers to browse these products in the private domain. That’s the big problem that private domain has.
