As for our group we have a weekly group meeting and for this week we had a group meeting yesterday. We started the meeting at around 5PM and one of the students shared a very interesting paper. This paper is about using mixed methods to do the game research. For this week I just need to listen what the speaker said but every week we will have a student to lead the group meeting and we take turn to do it. After sharing the paper each student updated what we did in the past week and I showed others my literature review and they gave me a lot of useful feedbacks. I think I will further look into another 2 specific fields. Based on their feedback i still need to have a deeper understanding of data mining and digital traces.

**06/30 FRI**

Today is a day in lab.

I climbed to my lab at around 10am. Our department is on the halfway of Beacon Hill, so we had to climb up to our lab.

Today I started summarizing the literature and reports I have read in past two weeks. I thought it’s a quite efficient day.

When I was walking down the hill, I noticed that tonight’s moon was really bright and round. After arriving home, I played just dance, a multiplayer dancing game in switch with my roommate. I think it’s a right decision to buy this game, because my roommate is a dance lover, and it’s a great opportunity to spend quality time together and do daily exercise.

**07/01 SAT**

Today is the 26th anniversary of the establishment of Hong Kong Sar.

My roommate and I chose a very local dim sum restaurant for our lunch. It’s a too local place, most customers and waiters there could only speak Cantonese. Customers had to find a table by themselves. There are crowded ppl during the weekend, thus many people chose to share the table with strangers. It took us roughly 15min to find the table. Then we need to chose and picked up the dim sum by ourselves, it was a special experience for me. I really enjoyed the steamed shrimp dumplings and steamed rice roll. After finishing, I noticed that my umbrella put on the table was taken by others. A waiter said maybe someone thought it looked like going to rain outside, then he/she stole my umbrella. It was sooo weird.

After lunch, we went shopping for next week’s food.

At night, I went to Causeway Bay to meet my friend, and then she took me to a stadium to play frisbee. I was so surprised that there was a such huge and beautiful football field in the downtown of hong kong. It was the first time I played frisbee in Hong Kong, I haven’t played it for approximately a year. I super enjoyed the time running and having a team sport with friends together.

**07/02 SUN**

It‘s a rainy day.

I heated up some steamed dumplings with pork and cooked a plate of fried snow pea for my brunch. Then I went to pick up the medicine I bought online. It’s a kind of health care tablets, which can help relief joint pain and inflammation. Then I went to my lab. I‘d like to share an interesting thing. While I opening the door of the lab, the lab was really dark, someone was showing different weird hand gestures to air. That’s quite scared. Then I turned on the light —— a researcher was doing AR development with his AR Headset.

**07/04 TUE**

The group meeting day.

One of the students in our lab shared a paper about mix-methods game research, it’s a very interesting paper. Then each students updated what we did in the past week. I shared my literature review and got some useful feedbacks from my supervisor and other students. Then the whole group had dinner at school canteen together. I extremely cherished the dinner time with our supervisor. We could ask any questions at that time. We talked about some trends in academia and industry, the funding situation, occupation opportunities, and also some timely topics in HCI research, like human-AI, deepfake and VTubing.

Our supervisor will fly to US to join a conference next week, so next week will be totally online. I plan to fly to Shanghai this weekended, and took part in a UX designer round-table discussion there. Can’t wait to see other designers, really want to know more about the situation of UX Designers in China.

**06/30 FRI**

Today is a day in the / our / my lab.
