Some people believe that Art gives our lives meaning and purpose. Others believe that it is merely a distraction from real life.  

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.  

   The impact of art on our lives has always been the headlines of topics in today’s society. Much like everything, people share different views on this issue. Some people believe that art gives our lives meaning and purpose while others regard it as a distraction from real life. Although loud music in bar or street definitely interrupt our normal life, I don’t think we should blame art as a distraction.  

   Art, such as drawing and singing, provides a good way for us to express our happiness and depression. Industrial workers usually sing songs when they are doing heavy physical work. Teachers often sing songs to comfort students when they get unsatisfactory score in the examination. Undoubtedly, art conveys hope and encouragement. It’s hard for us to imaging life without art.    

   Besides, learning arts serves as a good way to improve children’s concentration. For example, kids who learn to play the piano needs to listen carefully in the class since abstract music is hard to be written down on notebook. When playing the piano, students need to coordinate their fingers to get the notes right. Furthermore, modern medical education has incorporated drawings, vivid pictures in textbook such as the anatomy and biochemistry to illustrate complex biological processes in a more specific way.  

As can been seen, art has become part of our lives. It makes our live become more colorful. Regulation on music in public places will avoid letting art interfere with people’s activities, sleep, meals or homework. As such, the essence of art won’t be broken.
