(OLD) Today is the first day of the May Day holiday which is for 5 days in total, but actually we only have a 3-day holiday. The holiday starts on the 30th of April and ends on the 4th of May, so there are 5 days, but we need to work on the 24th of April and May 7th, which used to be weekends.
(NEW) We have started the May Day holiday, which has 5 days off, and it starts on April 30th and ends on May 4th, but due to the fact that we need to do extra work before and after the holiday for 2 days (in total) which used to be weekend, and that means we only have a 3-day holiday.
(OLD) Therefore before the holiday we needed to work for 6 days in a row, and the same after the holiday.
(NEW) And the weekend is sacrificed by the extra work which makes us very tired for 6 days work consecutively.
(OLD) This stupid action is called “tiaoxiu” in Chinese, and I think the Chinese gov is the only on that did that in the world.
(NEW) I have never heard that any other country has the same holiday rule which is called “tiaoxiu” in Chinese.

I stayed at home for the first three days in a row, because I didn’t know that I needed a nucleic acid testing result which is available in 48 hours and then I could go anywhere. I planned to go to a painting class and I found out that I couldn’t go there without the testing result. So I bought a set of artistic oil painting sticks and painting equipment through online shopping and I painted at home by watching online painting videos.
(NEW) The May Day holiday has passed 3 days with me feeling that happy time is always short. I didn’t go out for three days because I hadn’t know that I needed a nucleic acid testing result to go out and without the testing result, the painting class that I planned to go has canceled. In the end I bought some painting equipment through online shopping and painted at home by watching online painting guide videos instead of going out to have class.
