How to Play Chess
A chess board consists of 64 squares, half of which are white and the others are black. The player who gets the white pieces goes first. Each piece has its own name and capability. Let us talk about them.
The first piece we are going to talk is rock. Both players have two rocks and they are placed at the corner of the board. They can go any vacant square both horizontally and vertically but they cannot jump over any pieces.
The next piece is horse or knight. The difference from rocks is that knights can jump over pieces which are standing in front of them. They go like a “Lâ€pattern, two squares vertically and one square horizontally or two squares horizontally and one square vertically.
The next piece is bishop. The bishops can go anywhere diagonal until meets some pieces standing on their way. Just like rocks, they can capture any pieces standing on their way.
The next piece is queen and it is the most important piece on the board. It is very powerful because it can move horizontally, vertically or diagonally just like rock and bishop combined. It can move any piece out on its way.
King is not as powerful as queen because it just can move one square for one time. But do not underestimate it because if you lose the king, you will lose the game. So, please try to do everything to protect it at all cost.
The last piece is prawn. Each player has 8 prawns standing in front of his other pieces. Prawns go one square forward with one exception that they can move one square or two squares on their first step. If the opponent’s piece is standing in front of your prawns, it will not be captured by your prawns. The only way it can be captured by your prawns is that stand diagonally.
Each piece has it own value, which is one point for a prawn, three points for a knight, three and half points for a bishop, five points for a rock and nine points for a queen. You can easily know which player has the advantage from calculating the total points of each other.

The last piece is pawn and each player has 8 pawns standing in front of his other pieces. Pawns go one square forward with the exception that they can move one square or two squares forward on their first move. If the opponent’s piece is standing in front of your pawns, it will not be captured by your pawns. The only way it can be captured by your pawns is when it is standing diagonally from them.
Each piece has it own value, which is one point for a pawn, three points for a knight, three and half points for a bishop, five points for a rook  and nine points for a queen. You can easily know which player has the advantage from calculating the total points of each other.
