Below is what I put down as Personal interests for a mentorship program which I hope to show my own interests and attract people who is seeking for a mentor or mentee.

“I’m a fan of practicing meditation in personal life, I live with my partner in a lovely apartment with green plants in every room. In work I like to seek and speak out my own truth or situation and remove communication blockers where I can. I also like exploring diversity and inclusion, female in work, work-life balance related topics which I believe could benefit my daily work.”

I found a mentor who has the same diversity & inclusion interest, I submitted a connection request to her and she accepted it. While feeling exited to have a mentor, I feel a bit nervous to talk to her.

Below is my mentor’s About Me which looks more advanced in vocabulary wise than what I wrote:

“In Jane’s role she serves on the *** training, as well as contributes tp key goals such as helping teams use data to drive decisions and leadership mindset. In her professional and personal pursuits, she strives to live her mantra, “Leading innovation, transformation & inclusive dream teams” which makes her recent career pivot to helping teams with their transformation through embracing Agile principles especially meaningful to her. Jane has deep experience engaging customers and using design thinking to build innovative solutions to complex, ambiguous challenges.”
