As I mentioned last class, 2 versions of the same paragraphs. The second one is the reviewed version from my senior specialist, who is not a native English speaker as well. The second version is better in my opinion, but I would like to discuss the grammar implications of these 2 versions. Cheer, mate.

FIRST DRAFT
The National Indigenous Foundation Indigenous’ (FUNAI) authorizations
The Project is subject to develop the Indigenous Component Study (ECI) in order to obtain the FUNAI’s authorizations before construction starts. FUNAI expressed that 6 of the 14 stretches have to develop the ECIs. As the PIA did not start the development of the ECIs there are no official authorizations from FUNAI.

The National Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reform (INCRA) authorizations
The Project is subject to develop the Quilombola Component Studies (ECQ) in order to obtain the INCRA’s formal authorizations before construction starts. INCRA expressed that 4 of the 14 stretches have to develop the ECQs. 3 stretches are still pending to obtain INCRA’s response and the other 7 stretches received non-objection from the institution. As the PIA did not start the development of the ECQs, no official authorizations were issued by INCRA. Hence, the Project is not in compliance with INCRA’s requirements.

The National Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reform (INCRA) authorizations
The Project is subject to develop the Quilombola Component Studies (ECQ) in order to obtain the INCRA’s formal authorizations before construction starts in areas that Quilombolas are affected. INCRA expressed that out of the 14 stretches, four (4) have to develop the ECQs, 3 are still pending to obtain INCRA’s confirmation whether the ECQ is needed or not, and the other 7 have received non-objection. To date the PIA has not started the development of the ECQs. There are no official authorizations issued by INCRA. Hence, the Project is not in compliance with INCRA’s requirements.
