Today I watched a video which was about Tiktok and the trend of internet. From the video, it analyzed the main successful factor of Tiktok. Compare with other giant online platforms, Tiktok focus on interest graph instead of social graph, the users of Tiktok are not necessary to follow anyone, Tiktok will push contents to you base on how long you stay on certain videos, so it creates a personalize pool to every one and make a great success in the world, in the meantime, it became the focus of the Internet, but it also attracted the attention of the political circles as Tiktok comes from China, a country that the West believes has no freedom of speech, as well as the China government will abuse the data to do the surveillance, however, some governments decide and consider to ban Tiktok in their countries. After that, people found that such actions only happened in the totalitarian countries before, like Iran, North Korea, Russia, but now, in some western countries, they started to do that or consider to do that,so what is the real freedom of speech on the Internet, and where do social media websites go in the future.
