Q: Tell me about your exp in pharmaceutical industry. How is it different from other industries?
A: I used to work in AA as a purchasing manager and I take care of PR and media category and also I worked with our g.c. manager tgt to implemented our category strategy in China. I think the way of working in pharmaceutical industry is very similar to the other work I’ve done. According to legal terms, pharmaceutical industry cannot do advertising in the market. So if you choose to work in this industry, you should know the legal issue and the compliance issue. I know all these issues and I can support our colleagues to operate smoothly according to local regulations.

Because I have worked in cosmetics industry and pharmaceutical industry. I think .. can do more contribution to our human being and make a more healthy and happy world.

Q: How would you communicate with or influence key stake holders?
A: First, I am a professional category manager. I know the supplier base and I know the vender environment. I can help our internal stakeholder to map suitable vender list for their project. Second, I can fully understand our internal stakeholder’s requirement. Sometimes our internal stakeholder always focus on the business target or the sales target. I think I can work with them and transfer their business requirement to our pro . requirement and use our resource to support their business. At AA, I am a business partnering. A: I think a big challenge in our procurement team is how to balance our procurement policy with the business leads. For example, some internal stakeholder will want to do a project which is not ….. I think our procurement team should strictly follow our procurement SOP and ensure all the procurement activity adhere to it. But we can also suggest one or two proposal to our stakeholder to help them implement their project in a legally way. For example, in pharmaceutical industry, we cannot have a big event or hold meeting in a resort. And I tried to find another two hotel suggestions for our business stakeholders, maybe the same brand and good location and help them to implement their project in a legally way.

A: I think a big challenge in our procurement team is how to balance our procurement policy with other business needs. For example, when a business need is against our compliance policies, I think our procurement team should strictly follow our procurement SOP and ensure all procurement activity strictly adhere to it. Because the procurement team is like a door-keeper of the business operations, and we have an obligation to eliminate/control the legal risks and compliance risks. However, when this conflict arises, I would also suggest one or two proposals to our stakeholder to help them implement their project successfully. For example, in pharmaceutical industry, we cannot have a big event or hold a meeting in a resort. In this case, I explained the potential risks very clearly and found another two hotel options for our business stakeholders. Finally, I persuaded them to take my suggestion, and the meeting was very successful.
