Study of Happy Shopping and Unhappy Clutter.

According to second law of thermodynamics, our single behaviours of consumption or hoard could be thought as an entropy increase. Why this process of entropy increase makes us saudade?

Entropy is scientific concept and measure which initially comes from thermodynamics. It is generally used to describe the degree of “Clutter” that is not only in a system, but also in physical property or information. For example, no matter how neatly organized and uncluttered your wardrobe, it is spontaneously got messy in the end. Opposite entropy increase, organization is a process of entropy decrease. However, entropy decrease needs time. So, how much time goes by, which depends on how much “entropy” the wardrobe is? When people face to an increasing and large number of objects, the endless time consumption would make people unhappy anymore.

If we already know the clutter as a result after overspending, would us stop shopping? The answer might be no. When we see the product that basically well-processed by designers and advertisers. It is not a tough thing that the brain takes time to process. We could simply and comfortably enjoy the order and beauty from information. This process of entropy decrease looks easy and time-used less. Our brain easily make a decision to keep this item which can bring us happiness.

Opposite from/to/In contrast to entropy increase, organization is a process of entropy decrease. However, entropy decrease needs time, the length of which depends on how entropic is the wardrobe. When people face an increasing and large number of objects, the endless time consumption would make people unhappy/cease to make people happy.

If we already know the clutter is a result of overspending, would us stop shopping? The answer might be no. When we see well-processed products, our brains do not need a long time to process them/The well-processed products which are not difficult to process. We could simply and comfortably enjoy the order and beauty of that information. This process of entropy decrease looks easy and less time-consuming. Our brain makes an easy decision to keep this item which can bring us happiness.
