Writing exercise

“Write about a time that you had to overcome an obstacle at work”

Usually I’m work on 5-6 programs at the same time. So I need to deal with all demands from my clients, every single day. Even though not all the requests are reasonable or controllable , I still need to overcome that.

One story really was very impressed me. One story was really impressive/memorable for me.

We need to interview a celebrity. The person who has been an important position in China street-fashion culture. He was an influencer, founder of the famous brand, movie star, singer, rapper. And our generations was impacted by him.

Our team prepared for to this 15 minutes interview for a long time, had discussions about every detail with his he’s brand team, agency team, and PR team. We want to make sure everything will going well.

But some thing happened on the interview day:

We had has a questions board for him, all questions are written in by Chinese. When he got this board, he was very very angry, kind of exploded. And he was loudly said this to us : you guys didn’t know that I cannot read Chinese? he blamed his team’s leader and my boss.

At that moment, I was so shocked. What the F? I totally can understand why he became so angry, that’s the basic information about him. Even though we prepared everything, we still don’t know who he is ? (he was grew up in the at United states. But he is a Chinese, he can speak Chinese very well , just can’t read)

When I was thinking we can’t do this interview anymore, my boss told me: the interview will started in at 5 minutes after.

We decided not gonna use the questions board, my boss will speak English to for ask the questions to him, he answered that with Chinese.

As you can see, except besides this one, I also have a lot of situations need to overcome at work. Wish I can handle it.
