contradict – disagree
i.e. He does not want you to contradict him.

unite – get everyone on the same page
i.e. The leader should unite everyone on the team to move forward.

office politics – 办公室政治

suck up to sb. – kiss ass
i.e. They think you should suck up to the boss.

take the temperature of the room or sb. – to see if someone or somewhere has the right mood
i.e. When we are in a meeting, we often have to take the temperature of the boss to make sure that he is in a good mood.

i.e. This job is very draining.
