Writing exercise

<Homework> Write about a P.C. topic in Korea.

Gender equality is a common P.C topic to discuss in Korea.
Even though Korea is famous for spectacular rise to be a developed country in just one generation, but the issue of sexual inequality still exists in the society, especially in terms of job opportunity. It’s obvious that most of major companies are willing to recruit male employees rather than females. And those companies’ excuse is that women’s lenth of working in one company is shorter than men because of their pregnancy and childbirth.

The good thing is that since Korea society started to be aware of P.C, some of big companies have set down a rule about the proportion of women and men for hiring to not offend women. However, it is still arguable whether or not that kind of policy is reverse discriminaiton for male.

<Homework> Write about a P.C. topic in Korea.

Gender equality is a common P.C topic to discuss in Korea. It is kind of controversial.
Even though Korea is famous for a spectacular rise from one of the poorest countries to a developed country in just one generation. The issue of gender inequality still exists in society, especially in terms of job opportunities. It’s obvious that most major companies are willing to recruit male employees rather than females. And their excuse is that they think women take more days off than men because of potential pregnancy and childbirth. (Even if women could end up taking more days off than men, it is not widely documented, so nobody is sure about the real statistics. In fact women usually take off less time than men for sick leave or vacation days. **** Warning, not a fact, just an example, I don’t really know****)

The good thing is that since Korean society started to be aware of P.C issues, some big companies have instituted  a rule that there must be an equal proportion of men and women hired to not offend discriminate against women. However, it is still arguable whether or not that kind of policy is reverse discrimination for males.
