Vocabulary

The zoo is not as bad as the circus.

the ones in the circus are treated worse

a survival show

stress – feel some pressure from doing hard things or being in a difficult situation.

eg: I’m sure it’s really stressful for animals to be watched and bothered all day in a small enclosure in the zoo.

nephew – boy, and son of your sister/brother

niece – girl, and daughter of your sister/brother

even though – used as a stronger way to say “though” or “although”

eg: He went to Shanghai, even though it was summer and incredibly hot.

I have never taken my nephew to the circus before. In fact I’ve never taken her to any amusement park alone without my cousin’s accompanying. If I can, I would rather take her to Shamghai Wild Animal Park than the circus.

The last time I went to the zoo about 15 years ago, that is my first time to visit my cousin in Shanghai. We spent the whole day walking around, and took a lot of pictures.

I think the animals in the zoo are better than in the circus. At least the animals in the zoo who will not be drilled over and over again. Sometimes it seems like some kind of tortures. Fierce animals become docile, that is cruel. We can’t deny that even though the best lion tamer who still harm the animals. Nobody likes pain, especially it is used for appealing to somebody.
