Rotation – moving in a circular shape

eg: The rotation of a clock hand is called clockwise. So anything that rotates from left to right is called clockwise and the opposite is called counter-clockwise. (Or anti-clockwise if your from England)

The super typhoon Mangkhut strikes Hong Kong》
I am fortunate that I escaped from Hong Kong last Saturday, before the disastrous typhoon Mangkhut hit there. According to weather forecast, Mangkhut is not only stronger than Hurricane Florence lashing the US east coast, but also the biggest and fastest storm in this year. By Sunday morning, Even though Hong Kong authorities raised T10 warning, its highest typhoon signal, and noticed storm prevention for the residents, the damage was immerse. It brought heavy rain and strong wind which uprooted trees and smashed windows in some area. Most of flights were obviously cancelled at Hong Kong international airport. Since late Sunday, It has been moving toward Guangdong province, south east coast of China mainland. Hope there are no more damage from Mangkhut.

Hurricane

What’s the difference between a hurricane and a typhoon?

I think hurricane is all about winds, and it moves in a circle shape and turning to the center, the eye of the hurricane and it has powerful wind to destroy some buildings. The area influenced by typhoon is wider than hurricane I think and typhoon bring heavy rain winds and flooding. I guess hurricane never brings flooding, becasue I never experience hurricane and just saw it in some Disney moves and it has a long shape, from cartoon.

I think hurricanes are all about [ wind/ air circulation ] , and it moves in a circle shape and turning toward the center, the eye of the hurricane. And they have powerful wind to destroy some buildings. I’m not sure if there is rain or flooding. The area influenced by typhoons is wider than hurricanes, I think. and Typhoons bring heavy rain, wind and flooding. I guess hurricanes never bring flooding, because I never experienced a hurricane. I just saw it in some Disney movies. It has a long shape, from what I saw in the cartoon.

Actually Hurricanes and Typhoons are the same thing, they just have different names depending on where they are.
