compensate to make up for – to fix a mistake

eg: To make up for not wearing the shirts last week, everyone wore one this week. But I still felt like My Hello Kitty shirt was out of place.

eg: To make up for not showing up to the gathering last week, she bought cakes for everyone.

doormat – a thing people walk on in front of the door

eg: Don’t let them walk all over you. you can say no sometimes, you don’t have to be their doormat.

whine – to complain in an annoying way.

eg: Stop whining, it’s not that bad.

eg: He’s kind of a whiner.

Wiener /Hot Dog / Sausage – 1. German sausage 2. a lame guy or person

eg: Did you say he’s whiner or a wiener?

scam – a trick to try any get money or something of value from you

eg: A lot of Chinese are becoming more aware of scams, even from big companies.

Genocide – when a group of people or a country tries to kill all member of a ethnic group

eg: The Turkish people still deny that there was a genocide against Armenians.
