I have a lot of small tasks to do at work today.


task – a thing you must do, usually for work or school

eg: Can she do that task? I don’t think she has enough experience to organize a meeting that big.

multi-…  – more than one thing

eg: You should eat the multi-grain bread, it’s healthier for you.

eg: I’m good at multi-tasking. I can do many things at the same time.

eg: I do multi-tasking at work. Like writing e-mails, and taking phone calls at the same time.

get away with it – do something bad or wrong, and don’t get in trouble

eg: The teacher caught him cheating, but his dad owned the school, so he got away with it.

eg: I tried to steal my brother’s toy, but he saw me. So, I didn’t take it.

What? there was nothing to get away with. You didn’t do anything wrong.

eg: I stole my brother’s toy, but he didn’t see me. So I got away with it.

cleaner – some stuff

eg: It smells like floor cleaner. Oh, that’s just durian.

Writing exercise

I heard a crazy story from my coworker about herself. Her apartment got break in when they got sleep at the midnight, and they had waked up after the thieves left. They found they lost some cash and gold accessories and then they called police. Police told them, ” Maybe there were four thieves, one thief guard the entrance to help the others are watching people, so that they are successful finish the whole steal.”

Past Participle:    (Have + V.)  (You have done it, at least one time before. any time.)

Have / done / eaten  (Useful!)

Have you eaten breakfast? (Today)

Have you eaten durian?

yes, I’ve eaten durian. I’ve tried durian.

Past Continuous: – Be doing

Had Done: – DON’T USE THIS, TOO COMPLICATED!

Had woke / done / eaten (Not Useful!)

Help someone by doing something
