I always sleep till 1 am. (??? you wake up at 1am???) – I always go to sleep around 1 am.

How to explain things better:

     Step 1: Ask about the topic:

Have you ever tried Empanadas?

No, I’ve never tried empanadas.

Step 2: Introduce the topic.

(Use phrases that compare, and show how they are like)

eg: It’s something like…    It’s like….    they are like…     It’s almost the same as….    It’s like this       but…(how is it different>)    It’s like (shenme shenme) with (shenme shenme)

Emapanadas are like big Jiaozi with a thicker outside part. And they are deep-fried.

Step 3: Explain how it is different.

Do you know guo tie?

No, what’s guo tie?

It’s like a deep-fried jiaozi, but guo tie is a different kind of food, very similar to jiaozi. but not the same.

Have you ever tried Rou jia Mo?

No, I’ve never tried that, what’s it like?

It’s like a hamburger but it’s not ground beef, it’s pulled pork. / It’s something like a pulled pork sandwich, but with Chinese flavor. It’s not bread, it’s not soft, it’s a little crispy.

eg: Can you buy some ground beef? I wanna make hamburgers.

eg: We need ground beef to make burritos.

crispy – about food usually, when it’s hard and breaks easily, after cooking.

eg: Potato chips are really crispy.

eg: These french fries are too old, they are not crispy anymore.
