Vocabulary
The school is not about education.
The school is about gaining face.
privilege – a right or benefit that is given to some people and not to others
eg: He thought he had the privilege to skip work today, but he got fired.
fumes N. – gas that comes off of something, usually bad smelling or powerful, could be dangerous.
eg: The fumes from that car are terrible.
eg: New homes always have a lot of fumes. They come from the paint on the walls and the glue in the cabinets.
glue – a sticky substance, used to hold things together. like, paper, and wood.
eg: The fumes from the glue
clear – you can see through
eg: I bought a clear umbrella so I can see the rain.
bribe V. N. – paying someone so you can break the rules
eg: I don’t believe him, because he paid a bribe to get that job.
competent – have the ability or skill level to do the job.
eg: He is an incompetent professor, most students can not learn much from him.
eg: They thought I was not competent, but really I am the most competent candidate.
