break the ice – say something to start a conversation

eg: I am not good at breaking the ice with new people. (This is figurative)

literally (ADV) – the original meaning of the word.

Big Head. (The literal(ADJ) meaning)

eg: He has a big head.   (His head is very big)

eg: In English we often don’t speak literally.  “I’m gonna kill him.” “Not literally, I’m just angry.” (You are not literally going to kill him)

figuratively – the opposite of literally. Not the original meaning, the idea of the meaning.

Big Head. (The figurative(ADJ) meaning)

eg: He has a really big head. He thinks he is the best employee here, and that everyone loves him. (Maybe he’s not really great, he just thinks and acts like it)

eg: She will get a big head whenever she is right.

eg: I was speaking figuratively, I didn’t mean you should really break some ice.

tackle – the literal meaning of tackle is: to take someone down to the ground by using your body.

eg: That guy stole a bike, but someone tackled him.

bug/insect – 1. a small living thing, can have wings and fly or can live underground. Usually has many legs.   2. to bother someone

eg: There is a bug in my coffee, I don’t wanna drink it.

eg: He is bugging me, can you ask him to stop?

eg: Something has been bugging me all day.
