Vocabulary

set – to choose a time for something
eg: Can we set a date for the interview?
eg: I need to set my alarm for 6am. Because I have to work at 8am.
eg: I set an alarm for 6am, so the alarm will go off at 6.
eg: I set my alarm for 9am.
go off – when an alarm sound starts, an alarm starts and a timer ends.
eg: The alarm will go off. (When?)
eg: My alarm for my business meeting will go off at 6am.
eg: My alarm will go off at 6am for my business meeting. (Re-arrange the phrases)
eg: I set my alarm for 8am, but it didn’t go off until 9am.
eg: I set a timer, it will go off in 2 minutes.
drop below – to quickly move below a certain point
minus 20 = 20 below
eg: Today is minus 20, wear a scarf.
eg: Today is 20 below, wear a scarf.
eg: It dropped below minus 30. That weather lasted for 35 days.
