Vocabulary

brand – a company’s name

eg: I like this brand of cheese.

stinky – chou de, has a bad smell

eg: This bathroom is very stinky.

eg: Durian can be really stinky, but people still like it.

eg: I hate stinky cheese.

durian – a very large fruit, that can have a strange smell.

eg: I have never tried durian, but I’d be willing to try it.

eg: I wouldn’t be willing to try stinky tofu.

eg: I have tried durian.

eg: I don’t think I like Fresh durian, but I’d be willing to try it again.

jackfruit – like a durian, but not as stinky

baggy – loose clothing

eg: I’m wearing baggy pants.

stylish – has good style

eg: Those are stylish baggy pants

jar – a bottle with a big opening at the top, and uses a lid(gaizi)

eg: I always eat a jar of olives.

appetizer -small dishes you eat before dinner or a meal.

eg: I make some little Greek appetizers. Just cheese and crackers(biscuits) with olives.


Greece – a country in Europe.

Greek – ADJ.  things or people from Greece.

Hummus – like a sauce, but very thick, made from beans and garlic and olive oil.

Gyro (Sheep Meat, cooked in a special Greek way)

Tzatziki – A Greek sauce, made with cucumber and garlic and cream cheese.
