out of my hands – I have no control

eg: I tried to get him to change his mind. It’s out of my hands now.

chronologically (ADV.) –   “Time logic”  we arrange some things, based on time.   Oldest to Newest.

eg: When we make the schedule for our project we need to be chronologically arranged.

eg: What happens if it’s not? If you didn’t arrange the project chronologically, everyone will be mixed up.

eg: Do they shoot movies chronologically? No, movies are not shot chronologically?

Alphabet – all the letters in a language, A,B,C,D,E,F…Z

eg: English has 26 letters in the alphabet.

eg: Chinese does not have an alphabet.

alphabetically – arranged by the first letter of the word.

eg: These should be arranged alphabetically.


General – overall ideas, less details

General Words – The word has a larger meaning. It could be many things, Root word.

eg: Using general words has less chance for mistakes, because the meaning is bigger it’s more likely to be correct. For example if you say I went to work, it’s correct no matter how you got there. If you drove, walked, or took the subway, WENT is correct for all of those.

Example: (Be) out of place        This book is out of place.

Specific – more details, very exact

Specific Words – Using a better word for your sentence, has more meaning in the word, it tells us What Kind of…

eg: Using specific words has a more thorough meaning, and can save time because you should be using less words.

Anachronistic – out of place, in time,   from a different time.

eg: The solar panels seemed anachronistic for the traditional farm.

eg: Nokia phones are anachronistic for us to use. They don’t even have 3g or cell data.
