Vocabulary

I didn’t get a chance – you were not able to do it

eg: Sorry, I didn’t get a chance to do the homework.

progress N.  – ability or skill getting better, or something becoming more complete

eg: Are you making any progress on the project

millionaire – a person who has a million dollars or more

eg: I don’t think if you work hard enough you can become a millionaire.

hard ADV – do sth in a way that uses a lot of power

eg: Study hard, because the test is tomorrow, and you didn’t read any of the books.

eg: We need to work hard because the boss is here today.

eg: Think hard and you can remember when you were in elementary school.

eg: Do you remember those “Magic Eye” posters, if you look hard enough you can see a hidden picture.

Study (What) hard.      (V,   N,   ADV)     Study   WHAT?   in a strong way.


study hard English

study hard English –    (ADJ, N)     This is a bad phrase, because you are saying, study difficult English. It is not clear who is doing it,

I study hard English every day.


Study English hard – ( V,     N (object) ,  ADV)

Eat cake quickly.         (V,      N(object) ,  ADV)      East cake in a fast way.
