What does take a break mean?

Take a break means, you stop doing something for a while, then you start doing it later.

My break is from 12 to 1.

I will take a lunch(ADJ) break(N) from work. Because I start English class at 3:40, with Tony.

Today, my break is from 5:20 to 6pm. /   I have a break from 5:20 to 6pm.
