mainstream – very popular music and movies, etc.

eg: I don’t like most mainstream music, but some is good.

underground – obscure and not common music, but perhaps better quality.

eg: I prefer underground music, it just seems better to me.

bake – to cook in an oven

eg: Most Americans like to bake.

eg: You can bake a casserole called Lasagna, it is an Italian dish, like pasta.

treat – something nice and small, usually food or candy

eg: That desert was really a nice treat.

eg: What a treat, we have the day off today.

porcelain – a material that is used to make coffee cups, toilets and plates

eg: You can bake it in that porcelain dish.

Combo – short for combination, putting two things together.

eg: The combination of tuna and noodles is not good

eg: The tuna noodle combo isn’t good.

phase – a temporary period of time

eg: It’s just a phase, it will pass.
