Vocabulary

what’s up?    Not Much.     Nothing.

I had a few small apples

living room – ke ting

crisp – hard but easily breakable, firm and fresh

apples, celery(long, green, u-shaped vegetables   Qin Cai) soda(coca-cola)

eg: These apples aren’t crisp anymore, they’ve been sitting here for weeks.

crunchy – like crisp, but more brittle, easily broken, usually more dry.

eg: Popcorn is very crunchy, unless you put too much butter on it.

eg: I am not a fan of crunchy foods, like potato chips.

eg: Fried Chicken is better when it’s a little crunchy, but extra crispy.

icebreaker – phrases used to start a conversation

eg: What’s up is the most common ice breaker.

expired ADJ./ expire V. – food that is past the date which it should be used

eg: That bread is clearly expired, it’s also really moldy.

eg: The expiration date of this milk is July18th.

mold – usually a green that grows on old food, not safe to eat.

allergy N. allergic ADJ. – if you come in contact with, or consume a certain food, plant, or animal, medicine. Your body has bad a reaction to it.

eg: Do you have any allergies?   Yes, I’m allergic to a certain kind of yams.

eg: I’m not allergic to anything, that I know of.
