Vocabulary

texting – sending a message to someone, by text N.

eg: I’ll text him.

eg: I was texting my friend.

rhetorical question – a question with no answer, or that you shouldn’t answer

eg: That was a rhetorical question.

cheesy – poor taste, bad jokes, bad style

eg: He always tells cheesy jokes.

cease – stop doing sth.

eg: Currently there is only a cease fire between North Korea and South Korea. This is called an armistice.

diminish – to become smaller or less in number

eg: My vacation funds are diminishing quickly. I didn’t realize it would be so expensive here.

delicate – small and fragile, easily broken or damaged

wear and tear

durable – very tough, can handle a lot of damage, not damaged easily

wear out – to slowly be damaged over time

worn down

point of diminishing returns – when you make an effort for something, and after you have reached a certain point, you start to get less and returns for the effort you put in

eg: You can’t just work out all day, there is a point of diminishing returns where you will just start hurting your body.

eg: When you eat bananas there’s a point of diminishing returns that you may get diarrhea. And completely lose all the health benefits you consumed.

eg: When you consume vitamins the benefits will start to diminish after you have taken in enough. Because your body can only handle so much of one vitamin.

There is only so much.many – there is a limit.

eg: If you have a vitamin C deficiency then you could get something called Scurvy, where all of your teeth fall out.

dehydrated – not having enough water in your system

excess – too much of sth.

eg: You shouldn’t consume excess amounts of deep fried foods.
